Hey Patsy,
Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re planning to cool off in the best way possible during the summer season at Walt Disney World.
Disney Resorts Collection hotels have some of the best pools you’ll find near Disney World. They’re a fantastic way to cool off during a midday break from the parks or to even spend time at during a resort day. The areas around the pools are often known for fun activities like pool games, relays, trivia and more. Cast members work really hard to keep guests entertained during their stay, so I can see why you’re solidifying your plans to hang out at your resort pool.
Unfortunately, safety precautions prohibit the use of snorkels and/or fins in Disney Resort pools. Guests may use goggles and personal flotation devices if they choose, but goggles must not be used on water slides and personal flotation devices must not obstruct the lifeguards’ view of the water. You may also find that you’d rather leave your personal flotation devices home because Disney resorts will have life jackets available for use at every resort pool (subject to availability). Save that space in your suitcase for more merchandise!
While you’re visiting, be sure to remember to check out your resorts’s recreational activities. Each resort will post the planned activities near the pool and the common resort areas (like near the lobby, for example), but you can also find them online. Head to your resort’s website page, then click on the Recreation tab, then click the link for the Activities Schedule. For example, here’s where you’ll find it for
Wilderness Lodge. Each resort will have special activities for you and your crew to experience during your time there. While you’re taking a look at the Activities Schedule, check out the Amenities and Dining tabs as well. Each resort will offer unique options for you to enjoy. In the case of Wilderness Lodge, there are 5 separate
dining locations including a
character dining experience with characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!
I hope this information is helpful, Patsy. If you need any additional planning help be sure to visit us again here at planDisney. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
