Is it smart not to make reservations with the Disney Dining Plan? I didn't want to be so set to a tight schedule during my stay. Thanks!

Hello Vanessa!  Always glad to hear from a fellow Texan.  I know exactly what you mean about being "set to a tight schedule".  It sometimes leaves my family sitting around because there is not enough time to stand in line for a ride and sometimes my family just isn't that hungry and we still have to eat.  However, you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at a very busy time and experience has proven to me that it is very wise to set your reservations.  The chances of finding a restaurant that will be able to take a walk-in is not very good at all.  I have seen too many people turned away and sometimes in tears because they did not set their reservations.  Trust me, it happens way too often and it can really damper your experience.  Once you set your reservations, you can always work with your daily schedule as to when you want your family to enjoy eating meals so that they walk into each reservation ready to eat.   For example, if we have an 1:00 p.m. lunch reservation, my family makes it a point to eat breakfast at 8:00 a.m. We know we will be ready to eat again by 1:00 p.m.  My family is getting better at this with each visit.  I know this seems strange, but you want to get the most out of your Dining Plan, right?
Well, I hope this helps with your decision.  Again, I highly recommend you setting those reservations today.  Have a magical day and "SEE YOU REAL SOON"!
