Hi Laurel. You are going to see Walt Disney World Resort through the eyes of your 2 year old...so magical!
You absolutely can take the diaper bag on the attractions. We did the very same thing when our kiddos were younger. Now that they are older, we have graduated to a backpack that is comparable in size. For safety reasons, it will always need to be stowed in the mesh bag in front of you or wherever the Cast Member instructs you. This will vary from attraction to attraction but for the most part, you will still have plenty of leg room even with the bag in front of you.
Are you familiar with the
Baby Care Centers? They were game changers for us when we found them! You will find a Baby Care Center in all 4 theme parks. They are great locations to feed or change your little one. They have highchairs, nursing areas and changing tables. They also have a small merchandise area where you can purchase items you might have accidently left behind. There is also a room with a television, chairs and small books or toys that little ones can play with for a few moments if you need some down time while in the theme parks.
One other suggestion I like to make is for you to take a small blanket or towel with you if you are carrying a stroller. The strollers can get hot in the warm Florida sun and the blanket or towel helps to protect precious skin from getting burned. We typically placed the blanket over the stroller when we went into an attraction and then stored it underneath when we were on our way to our next activity. At night, it served its original purpose of being a blanket for our tired little ones while they rested en route to our Resort hotel.
I'm so excited for you. Enjoy every magical moment of your vacation and please let us know if you have any other questions as you prepare for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
