I see Small World is still under refurbished, and Indy will be shortly. My vacation starts on May 20th, and was wondering if both will be up and running by the time I leave.

Aloha, Ian, and welcome back to planDisney. It's exciting that your visit is perfectly timed with the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, which starts on May 16! There will be limited-time entertainment, colorful decorations, specialty food and drinks, exclusive merchandise, and more to celebrate seven decades of magic.

Ian, as for which attractions may be under refurbishment during your visit, the Hours & Events Calendar is updated on a rolling basis, looking out as far as six weeks in advance. The "Day View" has a "Closed for Refurbishment" section that lists which attractions are unavailable for the selected date. Details for your vacation dates should appear in mid-April. Closures are subject to change, so it’s a good idea to revisit the calendar just before your arrival.

Here's what we know: “it’s a small world” started an extended refurbishment in January 2025 and is expected to reopen sometime this spring. The 70th Anniversary page mentions that a brand new projection show is coming to the facade of "it's a small world," which makes me hopeful that the attraction will reopen before or alongside the start of the festivities in May. However, a date has not been announced yet.

Ian, you’ll definitely want to experience the Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular during your visit! It celebrates more than 100 years of stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios, pairing projections and enchanting music with fireworks on select nights. It’s pure Disney magic! I love watching fireworks from the viewing area near "it’s a small world" since it tends to have a little more space compared to Main Street, U.S.A. and Sleeping Beauty Castle.

You also won’t want to miss Paint the Night, my absolute favorite parade! It’s returning as part of the 70th Anniversary Celebration, and is a dazzling spectacle with a catchy soundtrack and more than a million colorful LED lights.

And speaking of thrilling experiences, I have great news for you about Indiana Jones Adventure, Ian! The attraction page on the website shows that the refurbishment is expected to last through April 24, 2025, so you should have a chance to join Indy on am exciting adventure when you arrive in May.

Ian, I hope your time at the Happiest Place on Earth will be filled with magic, fun, and unforgettable moments. If you have any questions in advance of your visit, please reach out. We at planDisney are always happy to help!
