Greetings, Alexa, and welcome to planDisney! There are so many classic attractions at Disneyland, and
"it's a small world" is definitely one of them. This was my daughter's favorite ride for years, so I've sailed around the globe many times to the world-famous tune.
Now, let’s talk about your October visit, Alexa. While I love that you're planning ahead, it’s a little too early to know for sure if “it’s a small world” will be available during your trip. The
Hours & Events Calendar shares refurbishment information up to six weeks in advance. It won't have information for early October until the second half of August – I suggest checking it around then and keeping an eye on it as your travel dates approach.
"it's a small world" recently completed an extended refurbishment and reopened this spring. It will likely close for a short period in the later part of October to
transform for the holiday season. I would guess that, barring any unexpected closures, you should be able to experience this attraction in early October. That said, we will have a better idea once your trip gets closer and you can review the refurbishment calendar.
It's an exciting time for "it's a small world" – starting July 17, 2025,
a new final verse of the song, written by one of the original Sherman Brothers, will be added to the attraction, celebrating unity and connection. As part of the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, a new projection show called
Tapestry of Happiness also lights up the attraction’s iconic façade each night. As you cruise along inside, look for Miguel and Dante from the movie Coco, the newest additions to the attraction. You can also look for other familiar faces – I've spotted as many as 30 Disney Characters inside!
Alexa, if attractions are a priority for you during this visit, consider purchasing the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This pass grants access to the Lightning Lane entrances at several popular attractions, including "it's a small world," leading to shorter wait times. It's a great way to fit more into your day.
And Alexa, October is a boo-tiful time to visit the Disneyland Resort. With
Halloween Time fully materialized, you can look forward to festive decorations, seasonal treats, and spirited entertainment. And while you are there, don’t miss
Haunted Mansion Holiday, which gets its own spooky twist courtesy of The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's one of my favorite indications of the season.
I hope you have a wonderful time at the Disneyland Resort this fall, Alexa. If you have any other questions as you plan your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
It's a small world after all,
Kriss
