Hi Daniel!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question. Sounds like you're thinking about a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth in early 2026 - love that!
Before any visit to Disneyland, I always want to know which attractions might be unavailable to experience while I'm there. This helps alleviate any disappointments, especially for my young kids but, let's be honest, me too. Your question is a good one, Daniel!
Dates are released for attraction closures six weeks out and are available on the
Daily Events Schedule. It's a little too early, at this time, to know for January. I encourage you to check back to the Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website as your date gets closer and scroll down to "Closed for Refurbishment" to see any attractions that may be closed during your visit. It's important to know, however, that closures can change at any time.
The Daily Events Schedule not only provides updated closure information, but much more including park hours, entertainment offerings, and any events that may be occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.
We do know that the
Holidays at Disneyland Resort will run through January 7, 2026, so my best guess is that "it's a small world" and
Haunted Mansion Holiday will close on January 8 for the removal of their overlays. The magic then usually takes about two to three weeks to return the attractions to their original versions. These are only guesses, however, based on previous years and can only be confirmed with the Daily Events Schedule when the dates get closer. I hope that's helpful, Daniel!
I'm so thrilled for you and your upcoming visit. January is one of my favorite times of year to visit Disneyland and was actually when we took our two young boys for the very first time. It was such a magical visit. If you enjoy "it's a small world," you should definitely try and experience the
Enchanted Tiki Room, which reminds me a lot of "it's a small world." It's a delightful show that came from the imagination of Walt Disney himself! So, grab a Dole Whip from the
Tropical Hideaway (my pick is the Pineapple Upside Down Sundae, if it's on the
menu) and get ready to be immersed in quintessential Disneyland magic.
As you continue your dreaming and planning, Daniel, stop by with another question anytime! You've got a friend in us for helpful tips and heartfelt advice. We love sharing our experiences to help you have a magical Disney vacation!
Your planDisney pal,
McCayla
