Hi Jose! Welcome to planDisney.
I always have snacks in my backpack for our Disney days. My son eats precisely four things, and packing a bag of snacks means we can fight off the "hangry" moments and sit down in a restaurant in peace while he munches on the food he actually likes.
You will be welcome to bring a cooler as long as you adhere to the
Disneyland Resort Park Rules. Coolers must be no larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high and you may not use loose or dry ice to keep your items cold; reusable ice packs are recommended. For the snacks you pack, be sure they are not in glass containers (except baby food). I recommend reading the Park Rules to make sure the items you pack are allowed at Disneyland Resort.
Over the years, I've learned a few things. Think about items that hold up in the heat and won't get squished, melt, or get sticky in a backpack. My son loves a certain Nemo-shaped orange cracker, so we pack those in plastic containers with lids instead of bags to keep them crunchy. Applesauce pouches are great options, as are fresh apples. My son also loves a good old-fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Don't forget your water bottle to stay hydrated and wash down all the snacks! You can find water fountains or water bottle filling stations outside most restrooms, and free ice water is available at Quick-Service restaurants.
I find that packing snacks and sandwiches leaves a little money in our budget for a Disney treat. My son always chooses one of the giant lollipops, and I'm a big fan of the
DOLE Whip. Mickey Rice Krispie Treats, and Churros. I love to read the Foodie News articles in the
Disney Parks Blog to learn about all the latest snacks available in the parks. Yum!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Have a great Disneyland day, and please come back and see us if we can help with any further questions.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
