Can you take a small backpack cooler with food and drinks into the theme parks?

    Hello Sharon!

I can tell that you are planning a fantastic Walt Disney World vacation! I like to research if items are permitted in the parks of Walt Disney World. A great resource that I have found is the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.

Yes, you can take a small backpack cooler with food and drinks into the theme parks of Walt Disney World. If you choose to bring a cooler into the Walt Disney World theme parks or water parks, it can't be larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm). Ensure that your liquid or food containers are not made of glass (glass containers are not permitted in the parks). Keep in mind that loose ice or dry ice in the cooler is not allowed, but you can have reusable ice packs in your cooler. I like freezing one or two plastic water bottles and then drinking the water later when I am in the park. I have often used a small soft-sided cooler on my Walt Disney World vacations to keep my food in, and the frozen water bottles help keep the food cool on warm days.

I hope that your upcoming Walt World vacation is magical!
