When is the slowest or least crowded time for a visit with 17 family members?

Hi Lori! Welcome to planDisney! You’ve found one of the best resources for helping Guests plan their Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

Visiting Mickey and Minnie when crowds are low is a great idea! I’m happy to offer a few suggestions to help make your visit enjoyable! A great time to visit with low crowds is the end of August through the entire month of September. Parents don’t like their kids to miss the opening of school which makes this time of year a great time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!

If you prefer the temperature to be a little cooler, consider visiting the weeks following Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Year's. These are typically lower crowd periods at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Lori, if you’re looking to avoid crowds, it is best not to visit any time that schools would be closed (i.e. Presidents Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) including most of March and April when spring break is scheduled for many schools and colleges across the country.

If you really want to avoid crowds (and long waits in line), you might consider purchasing Disney Genie+. This ticket add-on allows Guests to select attractions throughout the day for which you can have a shorter wait! Yes, it’s an added cost, but it saves significant time and makes your overall park experience more enjoyable!

Lori, another good tip is to take advantage of the perks of being a Guest at a Disney Resort Hotel! Guests staying at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection can enter the Disney Parks 30 minutes before park opening with the Early Theme Park Entry benefit! There is no additional cost associated with this benefit! It is just a perk of staying as Guest of the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Dreams do come true!
