I am slightly confused in regard to how soon you can book. I am planning a trip in Oct 2016 and I know I can't book it yet, but am I able to book the entire vacation 499 days in advance, or just the room? If so, how do I add tickets and other options?

    Hi Alexis,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!  I'm sure you're excited to start making plans for your Walt Disney World vacation, so hopefully I can help clear up any confusion!

You can always make room-only reservations up to 499 days in advance.  The exact date you can call to do that is calculated from your planned check-out date.  If you need help finding the exact date you can call, I like the calculator available at, but it looks like your date will fall sometime in late May or June.  On that magical day, just call call (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639) to make your room reservation.  Rates will not yet be guaranteed, but you'll be able to rest easy knowing you have exactly the Disney Resort hotel and room you want for your vacation dates.

Once 2016 rates and packages are released, you'll then be able to call back to add any items you want on to your room reservation to make it a package, including theme park tickets, the Disney Dining Plan and Memory Maker.  Just call that same number and have your reservation number handy.  Based on what's happened in previous years, I'd expect those 2016 rates to be released sometime in July or August of this year, so I'd just keep an eye on the website for updates.

I hope that helps, Alexis, and wishing you pixie-dusted planning!  Please write back if I can help answer any other questions as your vacation gets closer.

    Have a Disney day!
