Hello, Jean,
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. The
Disney Skyliner is an incredible addition to Walt Disney World. It makes travel to/from
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios such a treat, and it also has stops at
Disney's Riviera Resort,
Disney's Caribbean Resort,
Disney's Pop Century Resort, and
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The ride is so peaceful and calm with fun views of Walt Disney World. We think of it as a bonus attraction at Walt Disney World!
Rest assured, the gondolas are accessible for guests in wheelchairs. At the Skyliner stations, there is a handicapped access line. The gondolas in this line will be stopped to allow more time to board, and a cast member may place wheel blocks behind the wheelchair to help it stay stationary. Please note that only 1 wheelchair is allowed in each gondola, and it should fit in a space that is 30" x 48".
When you are ready to disembark, a cast member who helped you board will have indicated that your gondola will need to go to the area where it will be able to come to a complete stop. This will again provide you with extra time to exit the gondolas. If you'd like to better visualize the entire process, I did a quick search and found some videos on YouTube that show how it looks.
Wishing you a magical trip, especially as you soar above Walt Disney World on the Skyliner!
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
