How is the sizing for the magic bands?

    Hi Lisa!

I'm not even ashamed to admit that I didn't have to reach too far to find a MagicBand in my house. Have you seen all of the cute things people have done with their MagicBands post-Walt Disney World Resort visit? Some get turned into napkin rings, some decorate door wreaths, but mine apparently end up in a drawer to socialize with each other. I hope they're all reminiscing about their favorite attractions and purchases.

Measuring a MagicBand flat from end to end I got 10.25 inches. However, when I connected the furthest spiked nub into the first connection hole to make the widest worn band possible, I measured 9.5 inches around.

Not only are these colorful pieces of wearable tech magical in the things they can do during your Disney day, they were designed with a surprise element hidden in plain sight; there is an inner band hidden in the gray strap to make them easier for children and those with slimmer wrists to wear! Look closely at the next picture of a MagicBand you come across; the colorful center portion is the mini band, and the outer section of gray will peel away to reveal the smaller stowaway. Measuring 7.75 inches long when flat and almost 7 inches at its largest size when worn, to liberate the little band you'll flip the whole piece over and pull the tab at the 9th hole. Warning - once removed you cannot reattach the small solid color band to the gray bigger portion, so size all writs before you customize a size.

Those who do not wish to wear a MagicBand can remove their center puck and insert it into a purchased Magic Keeper, or they can request a magic card at check-in which will be able to do everything that a MagicBand can do.

We'll See You Real Soon, Lisa!
