Do you have any size recommendations for fanny packs (we call them bum bags in the UK)? Any insider-tip essential items for said pack too? I usually have a park bag for Disneyland Paris and other theme parks, but don’t fancy it for the Florida heat!

Hi there, Daniel! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for bringing us your question!

I am so happy to read that you're already thinking about how to carry your things around the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, because I've seen some people forget this essential planning step. In fact, I used to take the same old backpack on all my Disney vacations because I didn't know any better, and then I rediscovered fanny packs. Plus, the great thing about them is that they're back in style, and they can make your park outfits look totally put together!

Daniel, I am known to take my entire life with me when I go on vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort, so trust me when I say I'm the go-to person when it comes to these kinds of tips. Back when I was a Cast Member in 2019, I found a wonderful (and stylish!) Mickey Mouse Club Loungefly fanny pack in the Emporium at Magic Kingdom Park. To this day, that's what I take with me on all my adventures, and I love it! I went ahead and measured it for you, and it's 14 cm in height and 24 cm in width. If you're interested in purchasing a Loungefly fanny pack, I suggest that you check shopDisney first. In fact, I checked for you and found this super fun Grogu bag, so if you're a Star Wars fan, I would definitely think about getting this one! If you don't find any that you like on shopDisney, however, you can always try the Loungefly website, Amazon, or eBay as well. I also happen to know that most Primark stores sell Loungefly products, so you might want to try checking there too!

Now, on to your next question. Like I said, I'm known to be the "mom friend", so I usually take way too many things with me when I go to the theme parks. My essential items would definitely be my iPhone, my passport (since you're from the UK, this would be the best form of ID for you as well), my credit cards, some cash, a couple of Band-Aids, Clarityne, Advil, Neosporin, LACTAID, Vaseline, a FuelRod, and my iPhone cord, and they all fit perfectly into my Loungefly fanny pack. I don't usually take a bottle of water with me because I opt to get free cups of ice water at Quick Service locations within the Resort (this is a pro tip!). On that note, please try to stay hydrated, especially since you'll be visiting during one of the hottest months of the year.

Daniel, I hope my answer helped clear things out for you. Please don't hesitate to come back and ask me if you have any other questions! I'm always happy to help.

    See you real soon,
