What is the situation with breakfast in the WDW resort hotels, I.e. Do you need to book or is it first come first served? We have a dining plan but can't see an option to book breakfasts. I know we had to reserve when at Disney Paris. Thanks.

    Hi Lynne,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

You are correct. Reservations are strongly recommended for Walt Disney World Restaurants, especially for those with Character Experiences. Guests can start making dining reservations 180 days prior to their visit. To make sure we secure the restaurants and dining times we prefer, I typically start making dining reservations on day 180 prior to our trip.

If you have not done so already, make sure you have a My Disney Experience Account. Once you have that account and a Resort Hotel reservation, you can track the number of days until your trip. Once you make your dining reservations, they will populate in your My Disney Experience account. If a dining reservation does not appear once you have made it, you can always manually link it to your My Disney Experience Account by going to My Disney Experience, My Reservations and Tickets, Link Dining Reservation and then linking it using the confirmation number.

Definitely make dining reservations, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We make reservations for table-service and signature restaurants. If you are within the 180-day window and times are not available, keep checking. Guests do change plans! I have changed reservations before and during our visits.

I do hope you are able to make breakfast reservations Lynne!
