Hi, there!
When my son made his first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort as a 1-year old, he most loved the attractions at every theme park, and we just loved watching his face light up with joy! I am happy to answer your question about sitting with your 1-year old on attractions with lap bars.
Milgrace, we found we had no problem sitting our 1-year old directly on our lap, facing outward, for attractions with bench seating like "it's a small world," or for attractions with lap bars like Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid. The lap bars are adjustable, so you do not need to worry about squishing your Mouseketeer's little legs!
I know your 1-year old is going to have such a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort! I have some great suggestions for
attractions that are just perfect for little ones!
At Magic Kingdom Park, be sure to visit Peter Pan's Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Each of these attractions has an interactive queue that will keep your little one entertained while waiting to ride. In fact, we had a hard time getting our 1-year old to LEAVE the queue at Dumbo the Flying Elephant! He just loved climbing on the fire engine under the big top.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, make Kilimanjaro Safaris a TOP priority.
Disney Jr. - Live on Stage! at Disney's Hollywood Studios is an awesome show perfectly designed for Disney's youngest Guests.
We never miss an opportunity to visit Nemo at The Seas with Nemo and Friends at Epcot. Make sure to dive right in!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Milgrace! I'm sure you'll have a magical
Springtime visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
