My sister's family (5 people) is joining us (7 people) two nights into our trip. Would it be best for me to schedule all of our fast passes and then add her family later OR should I wait until their window opens and schedule everyone at the same time?

    Hi, there!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tony. We're so happy to hear you're planning another Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Disney's FastPass+ is the very best way to maximize your time in the theme parks. With FastPass+, you and your family can bypass long Standby lines and experience little to no wait for fan-favorite attractions! You ask a great question about scheduling FastPass+ for a big group. I definitely recommend that you book your FastPass+ experiences for the first two days of your trip as soon as your 60-day booking window opens up. Obtaining the same FastPass+ for 12 people may be a challenge for super popular attractions like Slinky Dog Dash at Disney's Hollywood Studios or Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. That said, it might prove even more difficult to score an additional five FastPass+ selections during the exact same hour-long window that you've already booked for seven. My best advice is to go ahead and schedule all your FastPass+ experiences (for your entire stay) the moment you're able to. Then, when your sister's window opens up two days later, see if you can add the additional five selections to your existing plans. Keep in mind that you don't have to have the exact hour-long window booked in order to experience the attraction as a family of 12. All you really need is some overlapping time! For example, if your family of seven has a FastPass+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train from 9:00-10:00 AM, but the closest window you can find for your sister's family is 9:45-10:45, take it! In that common 15-minutes from 9:45 - 10:00 AM, everyone in your travel party can enter the FastPass+ queue together. If you can't find an exact or an overlapping window for your sister's family, you may have to modify the selections you initially made for your family to find something later in the day that can accommodate everyone.

Before you begin to choose your FastPass+ experiences, be sure that everyone in your family and your sister's family is connected through Family & Friends on My Disney Experience. Once everyone is linked, you'll be able to make shared plans!

I hope this was helpful, Tony. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
