My sister and I (with my 6 year old and 1 year old) are going to WDW September 17-23. I have never been during this time. What are the weather and crowds like during this time?

    Hi Brandi,

I was at Walt Disney World in late September last year.  It was hot, but not as hot as you'll find Orlando in August.  Typical high temperatures are in the upper 80s and low temperatures are in mid-50s.  Shorts and short-sleeved shirts are perfect for the daytime but be sure to have a light jacket to put on at night, particularly if you plan to ride boats to any of your destinations.

I think you'll find the crowds in mid- to late September quite reasonable.  Since most of the nation's school children will be back in the classroom, lines to attractions will be shorter than in the summer time.  You'll still want to arrive at opening time to queue up for each park's most popular attractions, but otherwise I believe you'll find wait times for attractions at moderate levels.

I think you'll find that September is a lovely time to visit Walt Disney World.  Had you noticed that there's a free dining promotion currently available for your dates of travel?  Be sure to mention this to your travel agent when you book your vacation.

    Have fun!
