Hi Jessica! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for reaching out with this question. I completely understand you and your sister wanting to be close to each other and hoping for those extra-magical fireworks views!
This is one of those situations where the distinction between hotel types really matters. Even though the
Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando is a
Walt Disney World Official Hotel, it is not part of the Disney Resorts Collection. That means it isn't owned or operated by Disney itself, and because of that, Disney doesn't have access to room assignments, special requests, or view preferences for that property.
What that means in practice is that requests like adjoining rooms or fireworks views can't be handled through
My Disney Experience or by calling Disney directly. Those requests live entirely on the hotel's side. The best course of action is to contact the Drury Plaza Hotel directly as soon as possible and let them know exactly what you're hoping for. If you already have your reservations, they can add notes requesting adjoining rooms and a fireworks view.
I also recommend mentioning it again when you check in. While nothing like this is ever guaranteed, checking in early and kindly reiterating your request gives the hotel team the best chance to accommodate you if availability allows. Since you noticed those options on their website when booking directly, that's another good sign that these are preferences they’re familiar with handling.
Jessica, I know it can feel a little less straightforward when you're staying at an Official Hotel instead of a Disney-owned one, but this is still very doable with a quick call and a friendly conversation at check-in. I hope you and your sister end up close together, with a great view and a trip full of shared memories. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
