Hiya Tess and welcome to planDisney from one Canadian to another!
I'm glad to be able to answer questions for so many Canucks voyaging southward for their summer vacations; my husband is Brazilian and we had a similar situation this year when our families were coming together to spend time together at Walt Disney World Resort for our
Disney Fairy Tale Wedding trip!
When I last stayed at
Disney's Pop Century Resort, it was quite simple to add additional friends or family staying on the reservation by logging into
My Disney Experience and selecting My Plans; here we were able to
modify our reservation but I also called to confirm the charges for my additional guests. I wish I could say how much this may cost for your particular situation but it varies depending on
your room rate, occupancy and how the booking was made - here at planDisney we aren't travel agents nor Cast Members who manage reservations, so your best bet is to r
each out to Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservations team directly!
Some other factors to keep in mind are also whether the
Disney Resort Hotel stay was booked with just the room or as a package including tickets; our family members from Brazil often have to use travel agents or book their vacations through companies so it also depends on how your sister initially made the reservation. Certain offers, packages or promotions may or may not allow modifications ahead of time so it's also worth having her speak with the
Front Desk Cast Members at Disney's Pop Century Resort when she checks in to see about adding additional guests to the reservation and issuing keys. (In my experience, they've often been very helpful even with last-minute additions to our rooms!)
There are currently some really interesting
Walt Disney World Resort offers during your stay that could potentially be applied to the existing reservation, so I recommend checking to see whether it's eligible! One of my Princely Picks, Tips and Tricks is to see if you can snag a reservation at the
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park to see if they have
pão de queijo available on their not-so-secret menu; any time Brazilian cheese bread makes its appearance at any of the Theme Parks, my husband is impressed by how good it is. (It's always interesting to see whether it comes close to being just as good for Brazilians whenever they visit!)
Be sure to check out our
planDisney Pocket Guide to Disney's Pop Century Resort and feel free to
come back to planDisney again in the future for more answers and knowledge ahead of your next Disney adventure!
Wishing you all the best on bringing family from the North and the South together at the Most Magical Place on Earth this summer!
