My sister & I are planning a vacation. Her children are 6 months & 3 yrs & my daughter, 10. She wants convenience to & from parks & I want fun & amenities. Our short list for 2 rooms : Animal Lodge, Boardwalk, or Wilderness Lodge?

    Hi, Jennifer!

Oh, I do not like picking sides!  Let me tell you some advantages of each and you and your sister can duke it out!

OK, I am going to be honest, I think I would cross Animal Kingdom Lodge off the list.  Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful! However, it really is not convenient to any theme park, commutes are long, and there are simply better choices for your needs.

The Boardwalk is in a great location to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.  There is a fun pool area, and you will enjoy strolling the Boardwalk in the evenings.  There is entertainment, ice cream, pizza, and you might even catch a glimpse of some fireworks from Epcot in the evenings.

Wilderness Lodge is just  a quick boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. This is a fun resort with a great pool and nice food court.  Bus transportation is available to all theme parks.  Make a reservation for a super fun dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Alright, I was not going to give my opinion, but I cannot resist.  Based on your kids' ages, I would choose Wilderness Lodge.  You are close to the Magic Kingdom, and this is a great resort for kids.  You can even hop on a boat over to Fort Wilderness for an evening campfire and Sing-Along with Chip and Dale (free of charge!)   I think it is a good compromise for fun and location.

Chat about this with your sister, and let me know if you need more information on these or any other resorts.  I will be happy to give you dining or activity information on your choices.  Now no arguing, kids!  You really cannot go wrong with any of the resorts, so have fun deciding.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
