My sister and I have been planning a Disney Family trip for the week before Christmas, 12 ppl going, 10 are first time visits. We just found out that we are both pregnant and our due dates are the first week of February. Should we cancel our Christmas trip

    Hi Misty!

I love Walt Disney World at Christmas time!!!  Congratulations on the double blessings - how exciting!  I have been fortunate enough to visit the most magical place on Earth during all three of my pregnancies.  I was six months pregnant with my youngest son during one visit and it appears that the two of you will be about seven or so months long during your vacation.  I won't sugarcoat it....it wasn't the easiest trip of all time, but it was wonderful!

You have the added benefit of travelling during a nice, cool month!  I think that careful planning will be the key factor in your trip.  Be sure to schedule lots of breaks and don't try and keep up with the entire group at every point.  Above all else, pay attention to the warnings on some of the attractions - some are not intended for expectant mothers.  However, the vast majority of attractions will be just fine for the two of you to enjoy.  Even though the weather will be cooler, it is imperative to stay hydrated and drink tons of water.  You will be walking a LOT!

Of course, this will be an incredibly crowded time at the parks and it may be a little overwhelming.  The great news is that you can cancel your vacation without any penalty as long as you do so 45 days before your travel date.  Best of luck to both of you!

    Much pixie dust,
