My sister in law has mobility issues she and is thinking of renting an ECV, they're staying in Old Key West. My question is if they rent from an outside company where do they leave the EVC at night when they return to their room.

    Hi Rachel,

Your sister-in-law has chosen a wonderful Resort for her upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. Disney's Old Key West Resort has a laid-back, tropical feel, with beautiful landscaping and pretty pastel buildings. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day touring the Disney Theme Parks.

Rachel, if your sister-in-law plans to rent an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) from an outside vendor, I highly recommend that she make arrangements with one of the Disney Recommended ECV Rental Companies. This will ensure her ECV can be delivered to Bell Services at Disney's Old Key West Resort and will be ready and waiting her arrival at the Resort. Similarly, at the end of her stay, your sister-in-law will simply leave the ECV with Bell Services to await pick up by her rental company.

If your sister-in-law has not already done so, I highly recommend that she contact Disney to request an accessible unit located on the first floor, as many of the buildings at Old Key West do not have elevators. Access to units on the second and third floors of the buildings without elevators can only be reached by stairs, which would obviously be unsuitable for anyone using an ECV.

If your sister-in-law is staying in a ground level unit, she should be able to keep her ECV outside the unit throughout the day. However, she will likely want to bring it inside her room overnight in order to recharge the batteries for the next day. Fortunately, the rooms at Disney's Old Key West are some of the most spacious at Walt Disney World, particularly if she happens to be staying in any of the 1-3 Bedroom Villas.

Rachel, I hope this information is helpful to you and your sister-in-law. I hope she has a magical upcoming Disney vacation!
