My sister in law and I want to buy tickets to the Walt Disney apartment tour but we unsure how to do this??? Help!

Heya, hiya, Diana! Welcome to planDisney! And oh my goodness—your magical adventure is coming up so quickly, in less than two months! The countdown is officially on, and I can already imagine the excitement of the resort waiting to welcome you.

Your question has me smiling—what could be more fun than planning a day at Disneyland Park with your sister-in-law and adding a guided tour to the adventure? Tours are like hidden chapters in the Disneyland story, full of extra magic and behind-the-scenes wonder. The tour you’re asking about, Walt’s Main Street Story tour, was such a special way to step inside Walt Disney’s apartment above the firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. While it’s a bit of a bummer that this particular tour isn’t currently being offered, the magic hasn’t disappeared—it’s simply taken on a brand-new form as part of the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration!

This summer, the A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour at Disneyland Resort debuted. While it doesn’t include a stop in Walt’s apartment, it’s still a wonderful way to walk through Disneyland’s history and legacy of celebrations. Guests are treated to a guided stroll through the park with fascinating stories from a knowledgeable Cast Member, Lightning Lane entry to a beloved attraction, reserved viewing for the Paint the Night parade, and even a keepsake souvenir to mark the milestone. It’s a fresh way to see the Happiest Place on Earth through a whole new lens of celebration.

One of my favorite ways to honor Walt during a Disneyland day is to pause at the firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. and look up at the lamp glowing in the window of his apartment—it’s kept lit as a tribute to Walt himself. And for an even deeper look at his story, be sure to experience Walt Disney - A Magical Life, a brand-new attraction that debuted this summer as part of the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. This heartfelt, inspiring show beautifully shares Walt’s journey and legacy—it’s as close as you can get to meeting Walt himself, right in the middle of Disneyland Park. I recently enjoyed this attraction a few weeks ago, and I must admit that I walked out of the theater with an even bigger appreciation for Walt’s visionary dream!

Diana, I hope this helps you and your sister-in-law plan a day filled with history, heart, and plenty of pixie-dusted memories. Even though Walt’s Main Street Story is on pause, there are still so many ways to celebrate Walt’s legacy while making new memories of your own.

    Have a magical day!
