My sister and I are first time marathoners and we want to do some kind of spa treatment post race. When do you think is the best time (same day or next day or more)? What treatments or packages do you reccommend?

    Hi AmiJo!

A post-race spa treatment sounds like a perfect idea to me!  If I were you, I would want it to be late Sunday afternoon or even Monday morning.  I usually like a little time after the race to just chill out and recover a bit before doing anything!

As far as treatments, I think that might be a personal decision.  My husband likes to have the deep-tissue massages, while I like a lighter touch!  You can find the Disney World spas online.  You should call them and ask what they offer and what they would recommend.  The Grand Floridian Spa will be newly opened after a total refurbishment, so that may be a great one to go for.  Be sure to stay really hydrated.  The race will take a lot of fluids out of you, and a massage does the same!

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
