My sister and her family are traveling in June. What are accommodations for special needs children? My sister heard they could check in at an attraction and be told when to come back rather than standing in line, which is difficult for my nephew.

    Hi Kevin,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

The Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of Services for Guests With Disabilities. One of the services we have used is the Disability Access Service. This service is offered to guests who cannot tolerate standing in long lines for attractions.

When we used the service, we registered my husband at Guest Relations when we entered our first theme park. The Disability Access Service was linked to my husband's MagicBand. To use the service, we approached a cast member at the entrance to a ride and explained that a member of our party had the disability access service. We were given a return time for the ride. My husband had to be present when we returned to ride. A cast member scanned his MagicBand first then the three of us were allowed to ride with him.

Although the Disability Access Service worked for most rides and attractions, it did not work for all. Just be sure to check with a cast member at each ride that you want to experience when you get to the parks. We were able to use the Disability Access Service in addition to Fast Pass+.

Since you nephew has trouble standing in lines, I suggest that your sister also make Dining Reservations to reduce wait time at restaurants.

    Kevin, I hope this helps!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
