Hi! My sister and I will be doing an adults-only weekend trip to Walt Disney World Resort. We usually bring our young kids with us, but not this time! What adult-focused experiences should we try on our trip?

    Hiya Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! Before my little one was born this summer, all I ever did was adult-only vacations at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Oh boy, what a difference a trip with little ones is versus a sister trip. Don't get me wrong, both are magical, but with an adult's only vacation, you can open up a new world of wonder. So allow me to live vicariously through you and share some of my favorite adult-only experiences.

There is no shortage of fun you and your sister can have, but the best place to start is in the Enchanting Extras Collection. There are so many experiences within the catalog of experiences that little ones either aren't old enough to experience or wouldn't appreciate. There is something for everyone, from dessert parties, tours, spa visits, and cake decorating classes. If you are a Disney history buff, Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour is a great activity! This 5-hour tour gives you backstage access to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and lets you learn a little more about the magic that makes this iconic park sing. Another experience that I love is the La Cava Experience. Now I don't usually indulge in EPCOT's many delicious cocktails, but the La Cava Experience helps you appreciate and love tequila's unique taste. Your Tequila Ambassador teaches you all about this spirit, and by the time you leave, you will have new knowledge to impress anyone at your next party. I'm still talking about my experience because I enjoyed it that much. If that isn't your speed, and you love Kilimanjaro Safaris, then allow me to suggest Wild Africa Trek. This experience has been high on my bucket list, but since my little one isn't able to join, I've been saving it for my next girls' getaway. This extra special tour gives a new perspective to the beloved Disney's Animal Kingdom Park attraction. This private safari is definitely an experience to remember. If there is anything in the Enchanting Extras Collection that speaks to you and you want to learn more, please come back and see us. Our panelists have probably done everything on this list and are more than happy to point you in the right direction.

My final recommendation for an incredible adults-only getaway is to go big on dining. Take the opportunity to skip the character dining this trip (unless you prefer not to) and visit some dining locations your children may not appreciate. California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of my favorite places to recommend. Their unique menu commemorating the 50th Anniversary Celebration is incredible, and you can enjoy Disney's Enchantment from their special observation deck with your dinner reservation. It is the perfect place to get dressed up and enjoy a chicken finger-free dinner. Afterward, hop on the monorail to the Enchanted Rose Lounge for a nightcap in one of the most beautiful lounges at the resort.

I hope this gave you a good starting point, Jennifer. If you need anything else or want help narrowing it down further, please come back and see me.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
