My sister and I will be at Disney World in May. She does not have a smart phone. I understand booking a time slot. How do we each order so it is charged to our separate cards? At what point do we pay, when the food is ordered or the food is delivered

    Hi Pamela,

Thanks for bringing such thoughtful questions about planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation to planDisney. It's smart to figure out the logistics now so you and your sister can thoroughly enjoy your time together in the parks. If you have plans to visit EPCOT, be sure to stop and say, "Hi," to another pair of Disney sisters, Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus in the Norway pavilion of EPCOT's World Showcase. Warm hugs will be back in time for your visit!

Mobile food and beverage ordering is one of my family's favorite time-saving tips for our park days. To maximize arrival windows for peak meal times, we like to plan ahead and place our orders well in advance of our mealtime. You can even place a mobile food and beverage order before park opening.

Since you mentioned your sister not having a smartphone, it sounds like you'd like to know how you can both place mobile food orders from your My Disney Experience mobile app using separate payment methods. I'd start by storing both your and your sister's credit cards in your My Disney Experience account for convenience. To do this in the My Disney Experience mobile app, click the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen, scroll down and click "My Profile," then click "Payment Method."

The next step is to place a food order. Start by clicking the "+" sign at the bottom center of the home screen and "Order Food." Once you click an arrival window for a dining location (tip reminder: you can click "More Times" to place an order for later in the day), peruse the menu and add items you wish to purchase for yourself to your cart. Your sister will place a separate mobile order later. When you're done, click "Review Order Summary" and select your payment method. The way it appears on my phone, the option to "Use a Different Payment Method" appears under the option to Check out with Apple Pay. Once I click that button, my stored credit card appears. Once your payment method is selected, click "Purchase." Your credit card will not be charged until you click the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button. You can modify or cancel your order at any time without being charged. Follow the same steps to place a separate mobile order for your sister, using her stored credit card in your account. Both mobile orders will appear separately in My Disney Experience (three small lines --> Mobile Food Orders) with separate "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" buttons.

If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, another option for quick-service dining is to place a food order in person and have the Cast Member at the cash register scan your MagicBand for payment.

Some things never change, like the bond of sisterhood. I hope you and your sister have a magical time at The World's Most Magical Celebration. You are the magic!

    Plan magic; planDisney.
