My sister and I are bringing her 3 kids (ages 3,2 and a newborn) to DIsney World in May, we are using the DDP but what I am wondering is if we have to make Character Dining reservations before we get there or if there will be room once we get there?

I would HIGHLY encourage you to make as many dining reservations as possible prior to your arrival.  The reservation window opens at 180 days prior to the date you wish to book and many of the restaurants book up very quickly, especially the character dining experiences.  Reservations can be made online or by calling Disney Dining at (407)WDW-DINE and there will be many guests waiting to call in as soon as the window opens on that 180th day!

If you're logged into your Disney World online account, you will be able to link your DDP to your reservations, so you will not be required to pay for those dining experiences that require pre-payment, such as the ever popular Cinderella's Royal Table!

So go ahead and check out the Disney Restaurants and make a tentative dining schedule!  Having advanced reservations when you arrive will make things easier and will ensure you are seated at the restaurant of your choice!

I have taken the liberty of compiling a list of the most popular character restaurants, which book fast usually require advanced reservations:

    1. Cinderella's Royal Table
    2. The Crystal Palace
    3. Chef Mickey's
    4. Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
    5. 1900 Park Fare
    6. 'Ohana Best Friends Breakfast

I hope your visit to Walt Disney World is magical (and tasty) in every way!  Please write back for additional information on any of these restaurants or if you have any questions about your special adventure!
