Hi! My sister and her boyfriend are running their first Disney Marathon on Sunday Jan 11. We live nearby and are planning on going to chEAR them on, however have not registered for the chEAR squad. Do we have to be in registered in order to cheer them on?

    Hi, Kelly!

You do not need to be a registered ChEAR Squad Member to be able to spectate your friends run the most magical marathon on earth! ChEAR Squad just offers the opportunity to view in reserved areas, you are more than welcome to spectate anywhere along the course outside of those reserved areas. Here are some ideas of places where you can watch.

    - Magic Kingdom Theme Park. You do not need a theme park ticket in this special spot! But, I do recommend parking by 4:00am so you may enter Magic Kingdom as soon as it opens to spectators. From there, hop on the Monorail and head to Epcot so you can catch them again near the finish.

    - Outside of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This is a lonely stretch of road, spectators are lighter throughout this area and very welcome for runners.

    - Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park parking lot. This is just after the halfway point and a great location.

I hope these suggestions help, Kelly! If you should have any additional questions, please let me know!

    Have a great time!
