My sis said a Mom from her church is on the Panel. Guessing that's you! Saw your answer re: Christmas @ Disney. Any other tips? DD6 & I on 2nd trip Dec 22-28, '10 (went May '09). Staying @ POFQ w/ deluxe DP. Favorites? Christmas Eve/Day meals? Thanks!

Hey, Michelle! Thanks for visiting me on the Mom's Panel! Christmas and Disney are two of my very favorite things...and when you combine them? There's nothing better!

As far as your Christmas meals and plans, here are a few of my suggestions. Keep in mind that my recommendations are based on past experiences at WDW, and as of this posting, the schedules for special events and restaurant menus have not been determined.

For fine cuisine, Citrico's (Grand FL) and Flying Fish (Boardwalk) usually offer an a la carte holiday menu, and the atmosphere is wonderful. For a faster pace, 1900 Park Fare (Grand FL) and Trail's End (Ft. Wilderness) offer buffets with traditional Christmas dishes, and Whispering Canyon (Wilderness Lodge) serves holiday favorites family style.

My favorite Christmas Disney tradition is The Candlelight Processional...a retelling of the Christmas story as told through Scripture with a celebrity narrator, a full orchestra, the Disney choir and several visiting choirs. It's held at the American Gardens Theatre, and in the past, they've offered reserved seating for purchasing dinner packages available at various EPCOT restaurants.  With a six year old, I would recommend either Teppan Edo (Japan) or Tutto Italia Ristorante (Italy).

A separate ticketed event, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is an opportunity to visit some of the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions in an old-fashioned Christmas atmosphere...cookies and hot chocolate, a holiday presentation of Wishes and even snow on Main Street!  You also can continue the Christmas celebration in your room by calling the Disney Floral & Gifts Dream Makers at 407-WDW-GIFT.

Michelle, I hope you and your daughter have a beautiful Christmas celebration at WDW together, and thanks for the shout out.  Please let me know if I can help you further. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
