Hi there Karen, I'm thrilled to give you a warm Canadian welcome here at planDisney!
It's always great being able to connect with fellow Ontarians making their way down to Orlando for their Walt Disney World Resort visits, and I like to make it my personal mission to do the research and find the information you need so you're prepared for how much things might cost you while you're here!
From your question I figured you're most likely asking about the price for the photos that you take with
Disney's PhotoPass Service - the photographers that you'll likely currently find clad in green throughout your visit who help capture the iconic locations and special photo ops throughout the Theme Parks and even at the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. I spoke with a Cast Member and
ran a test order simulation via My Disney Experience myself just to confirm the current pricing, but bear in mind that this is always subject to change without prior notice and is only currently accurate as of summer 2023:
- The price that you mentioned is how much you'll be charged in US Dollars to be able to download a single image from the gallery linked to your account. Whenever you purchase images, the Disney PhotoPass watermark will be removed so that you'll be able to share this single image with friends and family.
- If a Glossy or Matte print is what you're after, this is currently priced starting at an additional two dollars for either two 4x6 prints of this single image, or one 5x7 print. (Purchasing this currently also comes with the ability to download the image as well.)
It'll be up to you to determine the value of this and whether it's an option that makes sense for you over the course of your visit; personally my husband and I have enjoyed
purchasing Memory Maker for unlimited downloads of the images soon after they are taken! That said, this may be more worthwhile for folks and families who really
take advantage of the PhotoPass opportunities whenever they can to make the most of the purchase. Just be sure you're well aware of
the expiration policy so that you make up your mind about the way you'd like to make sure you keep the photos that you want before they go away!
Hope this was helpful, Karen - don't hesitate to come back to planDisney again to
ask me for any more advice, tips or tricks ahead of any of your upcoming visits to Disney Destinations around the world!
May your next Disney Adventure be Picture Perfect!
