I am a single parent and plan to take my 3 and 5 year old to WDW early 2013 so the trip will be geared to their needs exclusively. What are the best parks to visit for their age and what is the best hotel-moderate? They LOVE swimming.

    Hi there, Jeannine!

While I love the Port Orleans French Quarter, you might consider bringing your little ones to Coronado Springs Resort, primarily because of its pool area (as you mention, your little ones love to swim!). The Dig Site (open daily from 8AM - midnight) includes a 272,000+ gallon pool, a bar (Siesta's), a sand volleyball court, the largest outdoor hot tub on property, the Explorer's Playground, and the Iguana Arcade.

The Dig Site also features a 46 foot tall Mayan pyramid and a Spitting Statue, while the Children's Pool includes a central spouting fountain.

Now, if you can get them away from the pool, I would recommend, without reservation, the Magic Kingdom as the right Park for children of that age. The Kingdom is a storybook come to life, where they'll meet favorite characters from best-loved Disney movies and fairy tales. This Park offers the most rides for smaller Guests, and features, of all of the Parks, the greatest number of parades (one in the morning, one at night), street entertainment (I'm thinking of Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It), and nighttime excitement (Wishes! fireworks spectacular).

If you would like, feel free to drop me a line and include some of their favorite movies or characters; if you have Pixar fans, for example, you might want to take a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where you can see your favorite Pixar friends in the Countdown to Fun parade, or Disney Junior friends in the "Live On Stage" show that opened in 2011.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
