I am a single mom with an 18 year old and a 6 year old. I am obese with mobility issues. Do you have any recommendations to make our experience a magical experience. I am considering rental of of electric scooter. What size WC is available at the rides?

    Hi there, Patricia!

Disney strives to give its Guests of all shapes and sizes a spectacular time while at the Parks and Resorts, and makes any number of accommodations to ensure this.

A scooter is definitely a great idea. It will not only offer you the convenience and comfort you need, but will also make a great place to store all of the souvenirs you're sure to get along the way. Every bathroom at the Parks and Resorts is fully ADA-compliant, and just about all of them will accommodate a scooter, at least in the area in front of the stall. You'll find many Guests prefer to park the scooter just outside of the restroom and walk in from there,

The Parks and Resorts also offer companion restrooms, which are designed to allow a scooter full entrance inside for access to the commode, These restroom locations are clearly marked on Park maps -- and any Cast member will be able to direct you accordingly.

My strongest bit of advice is to consider giving each attraction a quick "eyeball estimate" to determine if you will be comfortable. Most of the rides and seats are made to welcome any number of body types.

Please know that Cast Members have worked with Guests of all shapes before, and understand that sometimes a rider might need an extra minute or two to fasten a seat belt securely or to get comfortable in a seat. You can always speak to the Cast Member at the loading area in advance if you are concerned.

The independent fan site www.AllEarsNet.com offers a wonderful comprehensive section called "Walt Disney World At Large," which offers all kinds of tips, tricks, specific measurements, and personal experiences from Guests who have had the same question as you. It's a very helpful resource, and is kept quite current.

Have a terrific time in the World!

    See you later, celebrator,
