I am a single mom traveling with my 15 year old daughter, will there be more single parents traveling on the cruise? just wondering to maybe there is a place to meet with other moms ? and hang out after hours.

    Welcome Aboard, Maria!

Thanks for cruising by the Moms Panel with your question!

No worries - you won't be the only single parent traveling with your child! Sailing parties come in all sizes, from two to twenty. You'll find there's lots of other single parents onboard, as well as adults on vacation without their kiddos. *gasp* Yes, Disney Cruises aren't just for the little ones! I took a cruise with two friends (and no kids) this past spring and we had the time of our lives.

On every sailing, the cruise staff will hold "Singles Mingle" gatherings. These are informal get-togethers for singles, single parents, or those simply traveling alone. Each day, you'll receive a Personal Navigator in your stateroom - a detailed schedule with times and locations for all the activities happening around the ship. Keep an eye out for the Singles Mingle event, which will usually be held in the afternoon on one of the first days onboard.

At evening meals, you'll most likely share a table with other cruisers like yourself, as they seem to pair folks together that have the same type of sailing party. We have often been paired with families that have the same age children as we do. On our "girls only" cruise we were paired with another group of women sailing without kids.

You can also get to know other cruisers by participating in activities like Trivia Challenges, Mixology Classes, and attending fitness classes or seminars. Times and locations can be found in your Navigator.

Your daughter will be able to interact with kids her age by visiting Vibe, the awesome teen club. I encourage you to visit on your first afternoon onboard to get a rundown of all the fun activities available to her during your cruise. My 15-year old loves hanging out in Vibe!

I hope this helps ease your mind about sailing as a single mom! I hope you and your daughter have a most magical vacation with Disney Cruise Line! - Diane W.
