I am a single mom with 2 small children and want to visit WDW next summer, by then they will be 8 and 5. I wonder if I could take them by myself. I'd imagine that most rides are 2 people per seat, leaving one of my kids sitting with a stranger. Thoughts?

    Hi Rachel,

Disney families come in all different sizes and configurations.  I think it's fantastic that you are planning to take your children, and suggest you get your camera ready for all the wonderful memories you are going to create on your trip!  I have travelled to Disney several times with my two boys (currently 5 and 7) and find the parks to be very manageable.  On most attractions, we are able to comfortably ride together as a threesome, and on those that it is not possible, I have my kids sit together with me directly behind them.  Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin are two good examples.  We just took my youngest son on his first "mission" on Space Mountain, where each "rocket ship" has three seats in a row.  My youngest sat in the front, I sat right behind him (for moral support) and my oldest, who is a Space Mountain "pro" was right behind me (offering me moral support as I worried about my little guy being scared!)  On other attractions including Peter Pan's Flight, It's a Small World, Snow White, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean we all sat together.  My examples are from attractions located at the Magic Kingdom, but my experiences are consistent throughout all of the parks. At Epcot, you can all ride together on the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Test Track, Journey Into Imagination, Soarin and Living with the Land to name a few, for example.

    Have a fantastic family vacation!
