I am a single mom with 3 kids ages 9,6 and 3 what are some rides we can all do together with my youngest only being 3?

    Hi Kelli,

I think you'll find that there are tons of attractions that you can all enjoy together.  Honestly, the height restrictions are fairly minimal.  However, there may be some attractions that your youngest won't want to ride because they may seem dark and scary.  (I've marked some that kids are generally on the fence about with an asterisk. You know your child best and can gauge how he'll react.) Here are some I think you can all enjoy:

    • Magic Kingdom: Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean*, it's a small world, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Peter Pan's Flight, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Monster's Inc. Laugh Factory.
    • Epcot: Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, Living with the Land, The Seas With Nemo and Friends
    • Hollywood Studios: Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Great Movie Ride*, Beauty and the Beast Live, Toy Story Mania, Muppet Vision 3D
    • Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safari, Finding Nemo, Legend of the Lion King. There are also a lot of animal trails that you will all enjoy.
Being a single mom can be a bit tricky when traveling with young children.  On attractions that your little one can't (or won't) ride, let the cast member know that you just want to wait in line with your older kids.  They'll usually let you go all the way up to the ride vehicles and then escort you to a place where you can wait for your children to finish the ride.  This also works if your son decides as the last minute that he's not going on an attraction like Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
