Single dad active duty military, I'm looking at taking my daughter 7 to disney world for her birthday. It will be her first time and my goal is to make it the best ever. I'm looking at staying at the Contemporary Resort theme park view. What else can I do?

Hello Christopher, thank you so much for your service to our great country.  You and your daughter are sure to have a great time on your trip to Walt Disney World.

If she is interested in princesses at all, I would suggest making a reservation for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  At the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutque, little girls can be made over into the princess of their dreams.  There are several packages to choose from with different makeover options.  My daughter is 6 and absolutely loves this makeover.  We normally choose the crown package which includes a hairdo, makeup, nails painted, face gem, sash and bag.  We bring our own princess dress that we picked up at the Disney Store ahead of time to save a little bit of money.  They let her put it on before the makeover in the dressing room just the same as if we would have bought it there!  The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a never forget experience that she is sure to love!

Character meals are a fun way to meet the characters at Walt Disney World.  In fact, Disney's Contemporary Resort has a great character breakfast!  Chef Mickey's is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet.  At Chef Mickey's you can meet characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy.  They come to the table while you dine to take pictures and sign autographs.  Other fun character meals are Cinderella's Royal Table, Tusker House for breakfast and 'Ohana for breakfast.

Be sure when you check in to ask for a "first time visitor" button for you and your daughter to wear.  You may receive special attention for wearing the button and a lot of smiles.  I hope the two of you have an amazing time at Walt Disney World together.  If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
