Hello, Parapun,
As much as I appreciate the opportunity to disconnect and relax while enjoying our family vacations, I recognize it's sometimes still necessary to remain somewhat tethered to life back on land. There are three ways to be connected while onboard the Disney Cruise Line.
The first way to connect, and the way that I hope you'll take advantage of the most, is complimentary onboard access to information and resources for your cruise through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. That will give you access to times and locations of activities, details about your rotational dining experience, hours and information for onboard venues, including shops and restaurants, and other information to make your cruise experience smooth and enjoyable. My family loves to use the Navigator app to locate our favorite Disney characters and to look ahead at menus for restaurants onboard. I recommend downloading the latest version of the app before traveling to the port. To use the Navigator app onboard, simply put your mobile phone or compatible tablet device in airplane mode, enable Wi-Fi, connect to the DCL-GUEST Wi-Fi network, and open the Navigator app, which will prompt you for your stateroom and other information to link to your reservation onboard.
For remaining connected with family, friends, and colleagues on land, there are two potential options. The first is Cellular At Sea. This service allows your phone to connect to cell service on a roaming basis. I recommend contacting your regular cell phone network provider to find out their policies and prices for connecting to Cellular at Sea services. You can also wirelessly connect to the Internet onboard. This service requires an extra fee charged to your onboard account. You can purchase this service one day at a time or for the duration of your cruise itinerary. To use this service on a mobile phone or similar device, I recommend enabling airplane mode, connecting to DCL-GUEST Wi-Fi, then looking in the Navigator app for the "Connect to Internet" link. That will open your device's web browser to a portal for purchasing and managing your access to the Internet. Although ship location and conditions may affect connectivity, in my experience, the onboard Internet service is very capable, reliable, and convenient.
Parapun, I hope you still enjoy as much as possible Where Magic Meets the Sea during your upcoming Disney cruise aboard the amazing Disney Adventure. Please visit us again here at planDisney if you'd like more support and recommendations as you get ready for your voyage.
Have a magical cruise, Parapun!
