Hi! Is it simple to take the new walkway to Magic Kingdom from the TTC or the Polynesian Hotel Resort? Does the walkway open all-day long?

Bonjour, Claude and a warm welcome back to planDisney!

The highly anticipated and scenic walkway from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa leading to Magic Kingdom Park is open which presents Guests with the opportunity to walk from the Transportation and Ticket Center through Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and through Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. At the time of my inquiry performing research for your answer, I found that the walkway is open 24 hours a day (subject to change). This method of reaching or leaving Magic Kingdom Park is an efficient and easy alternative on busier days. The walk to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa takes approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your pace and I will elaborate on distances a little later on, Claude.

There are many pleasant distractions on your way to and from the Magic Kingdom Park to pass the time on your journey, and I particularly enjoyed watching the Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation crossing overhead and the boats traversing the Seven Seas Lagoon. When walking in the evening, you might catch the Electrical Water Pageant, and you’ll even have a chance to see glimpses of Cinderella Castle glimmering against the night sky. It really does feel like a scenic stroll through a park with faint melodies emanating from Main Street, U.S.A. which is a very different experience walking to Magic Kingdom Park than from Disney’s Contemporary Resort in my opinion. And I just love the benches sprinkled along the way giving you a chance to relax and take in all the scenery, it’s so peaceful.

Claude, I looked up some approximate distances for you. From Magic Kingdom Park to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa it’s about 0.75 miles, from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort it’s about 0.50 miles, and from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to the Transportation and Ticket Center it’s about 0.03 miles. Your travel time will depend on your pace and how your pace is affected by weather temperatures.

I hope this information serves you well, Claude, it was my extreme pleasure helping a fellow Canadian Disney fan and I am very excited for your upcoming visit during the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Walt Disney World Resort!

    Best Disney Wishes!
    Merci,

    Jacqueline
