Silly question: are rolls of quarters/ pennies available for the pressed coin machines? Coming from Canada we no longer have pennies, and I assume the machines would need American coins anyway? We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Thank you!

    Hi Erin,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for coming to us with your question. I grew up in Canada, back when we still had those copper pennies with the maple leaf on them. Now, when I visit my parents, I get so confused every time I’m in the coffee shop, trying to figure out the amount of change I’m going to get. Your question made me smile, made me crave a double-double and chocolate glazed doughnut, and prompted me to call my mom, so thank you!

My daughter discovered pressed penny machines on our Walt Disney World vacation a few weeks ago, and she is now obsessed. They really do make such fun collector’s items and unique souvenirs. I’m happy to report that you will be able to purchase pennies and quarters at any merchandise location, dining location, or Guest Services window around the Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts.

Erin, to help you keep your eyes on the pressed penny prize, I think you’ll find this Pressed Coin Machine map helpful. Also, keep a lookout in merchandise locations, as many sell souvenir books for displaying your pressed penny keepsakes. My fellow Panelist Kara has a lovely suggestion for adding extra magic to your pressed-penny collection that I just had to share.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
