I would like to get silhouette cut outs done of my three children for X-mas gifts for the grandparents. We are taking a child free trip in November, and wanted to know if they would be able to cut the silhouettes from pictures.

    Hi Amy!

I think getting silhouettes of the Grandchildren would make a lovely and very thoughtful Christmas gift for the Grandparents!

I can't 100% guarantee you that the Silhouette Artists at Disney can make silhouettes from a picture but I have known other silhouette artists at other locations who were able to do it from a picture so I think its worth a try.  I'd recommend doing a couple of things. Take a close up profile picture of each of your children. I'd print out a 8" x 10" copy of each as well as keeping a digital one.  That way the artist will have an almost life size "model" to go by. With the digital version, they can zoom in on any details they may need to see.

There is a silhouette cart at Downtown Disney in the Marketplace area near Disney's Pin Traders and Earl of Sandwich. You can also find a couple of the silhouette carts in the Magic Kingdom. There is one in the little side street to the right about half way down Main Street U.S.A.  There is also one in Liberty Square near the Hall of Presidents. There may be other locations but these pop to mind.

Its always best for an artist to have a live person pose for their work because it allows them to see more features but since you are taking child free trip, I think its worth a try.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
