When signing up for virtual lines, we have 7 guests. If a ride only accommodates 6 people must we divide our party and make 2 requests for a ride time or will the app just give us one loading number for everyone?

Hi Eleanor. Thank you for bringing your question to us here at planDisney.

Virtual Queues are such a convenient way to reserve a space in line for the newest, most popular rides at the Walt Disney World Resort without having to actually wait in a physical line. At this time, two attractions offer the Virtual Queue option - Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and, my current favorite, TRON / Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom Park.

I'm happy to inform you that I confirmed with a friendly Cast Member that the maximum amount of people that can register for a Boarding Group through a Virtual Queue is 12 people. So, as long as everyone has a valid theme park ticket, a Theme Park Reservation for the park in which the ride is located, and they are all linked together, you will only have to secure one Boarding Group for your 7 guests!

Please note that registration for Virtual Queues opens promptly at 7 a.m. EST. However, you will want to log in to the My Disney Experience mobile app earlier than that to select the members of your party that would like to ride. This way, when 7 a.m. rolls around, you can simply enroll without having to stop to select all the people that want to ride. These Boarding Groups go very quickly so every moment counts. If you do not get a Boarding Group at 7 a.m., you will have another chance at 1 p.m. However, you have to be in the park to register for a Boarding Group in the afternoon. You can try for the 7 a.m. Boarding Group in the comfort of your hotel room.

Once you have secured your Boarding Group, you will be given an estimated wait time for when your group will be called. Kindly note that you will have one hour to return to the ride after your Boarding Group is called.

As a bonus tip, you can also purchase Individual Lightning Lanes for both of these rides as well. This will get you access to the Lightning Lane at these two attractions. Each person can purchase two of these per day (for separate rides). Individual Lightning Lanes go on sale at 7 a.m. for Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel and when the park opens for all other Guests. The best part about this option is that you get to choose a time you want to ride (subject to availability). If you're like me, you'll try for both an Individual Lightning Lane and a Boarding Group so you can possibly experience the attraction twice in one day.

Eleanor, I hope you have a great trip! You're bound to love both of these rides. Feel free to reach out again in the future if you have any other questions.

    End of line,
    Matt
