My significant other has always wanted to play golf at Disneyworld but neither of us have and we don't want to be paired up as we read that people can be impatient if you slow them down. We just want to try golf out and drive the golf cart, any tips?

    Hi Amanda,

Fore! Thanks for returning to planDisney with another great question. I'm so excited to hear that you and your significant other are hoping to hit the links on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. My family absolutely loves spending time at "The Happiest Place on Turf!" The magnificent golf courses at the Walt Disney World Resort offer Guests various degrees of challenge, beautiful scenery, and a unique (but distinctly Disney) vacation experience.

Amanda, the Walt Disney World Resort golf courses will pair up individuals and twosomes to create teams of four when the possibility exists. After chatting with a friendly Cast Member at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, I confirmed that the only way to guarantee you and your significant other won’t be paired up would be to purchase four tee times. Alternatively, you could opt to tee off in the evening, when the courses are less busy. This would give you a better chance of being able to play as a twosome. Plus, there are some fantastic rates available for tee times later in the day!

As beginner golfers, I encourage you to check out the Sunset 9-Hole promotional hours at the Walt Disney World Resort golf courses, Amanda. For a reasonable rate, you and your significant other can enjoy nine holes of golf around dusk, use of a golf cart (or pull cart on Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course), two pre-round beverages, and stunning sunset views! Of all the courses on property, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is the most beginner-friendly and might be a great place to get your feet wet (not literally, of course – water hazard!).

Amanda, if you don’t think you’re ready to commit to the full golfing experience, you can always visit the two incredible Walt Disney World Resort miniature golf courses: Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. My family loves spending an afternoon practicing our putting at these exciting and challenging courses! I hope this information helps you prepare for your tee time at one of the outstanding golf courses at the Walt Disney World Resort, Amanda. I'm wishing you a magical and memorable trip! If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to revisit us at planDisney anytime or reach out to me directly. We're here to help you make the most of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Hit 'em straight,
