Hi there! Signed up for my 1st run Disney race, which will also be my 1st half a marathon! (Signed up for the Princess 1/2) How soon after signing up for the race should I book my room? Do packages go quickly? Thanks!

    Hi Emily!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on signing up for your very first half marathon! The Disney Princess Half Marathon was my first half marathon and it's my favorite race to recommend for a first time runner.

At this time you can book a room only reservation by calling runDisney at 407-939-iRun. Packages, including your theme park tickets and Disney Dining Plan, will not be released to book online until later this summer. I always recommend that runners book a hotel as soon as they possibly can, if not immediately after you register. This ensures that you have a hotel to fit your budget for the weekend. If later on when the packages release, a room or something similar is still available and you find the package rate to be better, you are always able to cancel and rebook. This is the same for any promotions that may be ran at a later date. If something like this doesn't pop up, then you know that you got the best rate possible since you booked so early in advance and you have the exact room and Walt Disney World Resort hotel that you want.

The flexibility of booking directly through runDisney is great so I certainly recommend booking now and continuing to check back in case something else works for you. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I hope you have a magical race!
