We have signed up as a family for our first runDisney 5K, Star Wars Dark Side in April! Wanted to ask what time the 5K Race usually finishes in the morning? We have family members that aren't running that will want to know!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Janet!

I'm excited to hear you will be taking on The Dark Side as a family in the inaugural Star Wars 5K at Walt Disney World® Resort. I'm sure the force will be with you all!

There is no specific finish time of this race because everyone runs at different paces, so the "finish time" will solely depend on how fast your family runs, what corral you started in and if you stop for photographs or water breaks. Once your family crosses the finish line of your 3.1 mile journey, you are done and free to head back to your resort hotel. The first wave of runners will hit the course at 6:00am followed by each additional corral about every 5 minutes. Generally, there are 4-5 corrals, but you won't know your corral until you attend packet pick-up. If you are in the last corral, you will probably start the race about 6:15-ish. From there, what time you finish is all up to you. It can also be hard to estimate when you'll finish because you may get on the course and find you are having a fabulous time stopping for photographs with the characters, which usually have a line.

If you're running with your camera phone, the best you can do is keep your family updated on your progress by sending a text message when you hit the mile-markers.

I hope this helps give you a better idea of how race morning will work, Janet! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I am here to help you navigate the ins and outs of your first runDisney race experience.
