Hi, I just signed up to the Disney princess half marathon for 2026 and I registered my daughter who will be 15 1/2 for the same race. I’m a little concerned that she might be the youngest in that race. Do many teens participate?

    Hi Alejandra,

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your runDisney question. Let me start by saying a huge congratulations to both you and your daughter for registering for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend! As someone who’s been running in runDisney events for over a decade, I can tell you from experience that this weekend is pure magic. Or as Rapunzel would say, "Best. Day. Ever!”

Now let’s lace up our sneakers and run straight into your question. According to runDisney policy, participants 14 years and older can join this event. You will be happy to know that you won’t be alone—I've seen so many incredible teens out there crushing the miles with their families. One of my closest friends ran the Princess Half with her teenage daughter last year, and they said it was one of their most cherished mother-daughter memories yet!

The magic of a runDisney race goes far beyond the miles. From the pixie-dusted start line to the storybook finish, it’s a race filled with music, laughter, and pure Disney joy. Along the course, you’ll be cheered on not just by spectators, but by an entire community of runners who are truly some of the most supportive and encouraging people you’ll ever meet. Whether it's your first race or your fiftieth, everyone is rooting for one another; that kind of energy is incredible.

And of course, no Disney race would be complete without a little extra magic—character sightings, entertainment stages, and upbeat Disney tunes that keep your feet moving and your heart smiling. Last race I ran the 10-miler dressed as Edna Mode and couldn’t believe it when she was actually one of the character stops on the course. It was such much fun!

Here’s a little pro tip from one runDisney regular to another: bring a small, packable bag or reusable tote that you can fold into a pocket or tuck in your race belt. Once you cross that finish line, you'll be handed a medal, water, Gatorade, a snack box, and a banana—and trust me, having an extra hand (or bag!) will feel like having your own Pascal helping you out.

Alejandra, I hope this helps ease any nerves and adds a little more excitement as you count down to race weekend. You're about to make memories that will last forever—and there's nothing better than crossing that finish line with your daughter by your side, knowing you did it together.
If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to stop by and see us again.

    See ya real soon,

    Christina
