Welcome to planDisney, Dorothy!
I’m longing to return to
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Although I'm not typically a beach person, I absolutely loved the soft pink-hued sand and turquoise blue water. There were so many things we wanted to see and do that we barely scratched the surface.
The water was very calm when I visited, but due to Eleuthera's frequently changing sea conditions, snorkeling equipment is only available to guests aged 10 and older. You’re right; a sign near Flippers & Fins Snorkel Rentals indicates, “Snorkeling is not permitted for individuals under the age of 10.” This might be disappointing, but there are plenty of other activities and adventures for younger guests to enjoy,
Sebastian's Cove, designed just for children ages 3-10, offers a splashing good time. There’s even a dedicated dining area with kid-favorite foods. As a family, you can all enjoy the Rush Out Gush Out water play area. There are two slides and lots of splash zones. Even I took a turn down the slide!
At the heart of the island lies the Goombay Cultural Center. Don't miss RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration. Check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for details. This event will immerse you in the vibrant Junkanoo festival, where you'll have the chance to experience and participate in this unique Bahamian tradition. My family had so much fun designing our own headpieces and learning about the music from local artists and performers.
I could go on and on, but part of the fun of visiting a new beach destination is discovering its hidden gems as a family.
SEAS the adventure!
