How do I sign up for the Magic Key payment plan for the DisneyLand resort? I did not see that as an option when I went to purchase them. Thanks!

Hiya, Richelle! Wow, you are going to just love being a Magic Key holder. I am a few months into my Enchant Key and it truly feels like I am constantly being sprinkled with pixie dust! From fun giveaways to one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, I pretty much feel like I have my own key to the kingdom!

While the payment plan is currently only open to California residents, I do have a bit of a Mickey-approved workaround if you are looking for a way to break up your payments. I did this myself back in December! You can purchase a regular theme park ticket - any ticket will do (single-day, multi-day, One Park Per Day, or Park Hopper) - and choose to upgrade to a Magic Key within the Disneyland Mobile App once you have scanned into the parks. In this scenario, you will be asked to pay the difference, essentially splitting the full cost of the Magic Key into two payments! When you open the app, it will prompt you with the upgrade option. If you don't see it, you can always navigate to the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner and click on "Tickets and Passes". Here with your ticket, it should give you the option to upgrade. Easier than spelling Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!

There are a few caveats to note with this plan. Most importantly, there is a chance that Magic Keys may not be available. Currently, only the Enchant Key is available for purchase. The Dream and Believe Keys have been sold out for a few months and we are unsure when they will become available again. So, you are taking a bit of a chance that by the time you visit there will be a Magic Key to purchase. One other thing to note is that if you are using multi-day tickets, you may want to wait until the last day of your visit to upgrade as your theme park reservations would not transfer over to the new Magic Key. You would be subject to reservation availability specifically for Magic Key holders. You can always take a look at the theme park reservation calendar and toggle to the "Annual Passholders" calendar to see where things stand for your dates. This calendar is updated live as Guests make and change reservations, so they can come and go quickly.

As soon as your upgrade is confirmed, those Magic Key benefits are yours! Get ready for discounts on merchandise and dining, custom Magic Key embroidery on Mickey Ears and Spirit Jerseys, and access to the Magic Key Terrace at Disney California Adventure Park! As a fellow Guest that does not live locally, I love that I also have access to the Magic Key Portal within the app. It helps me bring a little magic into my day in between visits. Here, you will find exclusive content you won't want to miss, including interviews with Imagineers!

Richelle, magic awaits! I realize this was a lot to take in, so feel free to reach back out to me or any of my practically perfect panelists if you have any follow up questions. We are always here for you at planDisney!
