Hi Christine!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with this question! As much as we all want to be able to “disconnect” and “unplug” while at sea, it is not always possible to do so! Whether it be keeping up with work back home or just using social media to share all the fun you are having onboard, it’s nice to have access to the Internet when you need it!
Disney Cruise Line offers a few different
data packages to access the Internet while onboard. Wi-Fi packages are available in a pay-as-you go option or by MB downloaded, so you may want to consider how much you will actually need and use during your adventure at sea! Usually, Disney Cruise Line will offer Guests the opportunity to get a free 50MB data package to use throughout the sailing. But, you must sign up for it on embarkation day before midnight! Instructions for setting up your account and securing that extra 50MB will be available in the Personal Navigator you receive when you arrive at the port for embarkation. You will also find a flyer in your stateroom with the instructions and pricing. I highly recommend stopping by the Connect@Sea desk onboard and asking the representative there to check your settings on your device(s) to ensure you aren’t accidently “burning through” the data without knowing!
The
Navigator app does not need an internet package to be used onboard. All you will need to do is connect to the DCL-GUEST network and you will have access to schedules, deck plans, menus and so much more on the app! If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure you do so before your vacation!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
