when to sign up for excursions?

    Ahoy William!

FINtastic news that you are taking a Disney cruise! Your adventure on the high seas will be here before you know it. Like you, Port Adventures are one of the things I look forward to the most before sailing with Captain Mickey, so I'm happy to hear you are focused on lining those up.

You will be able to make your Port Adventure reservations as soon as your cruise is paid in full and your advance booking window opens. This date is determined by how many times you have cruised with Captain Mickey before or if you are a newbie sailor on Disney Cruise Line. Those Guests who have sailed before are what we call members of the Castaway Club. Platinum Castaways can book 120 days from the first day of sailing, followed by 105 days for Gold Castaways and 90 days for Silver Castaways. And the window for first time Disney cruisers opens 75 days before their sailing date. Reservations might also be secured on the first day you set sail, depending on availability.

Here’s how you make those ashore reservations online: after logging onto your Disney Cruise Line account, go to "My Reservations" and then to "My Cruise Activities" for booking. Select a port day and then you’ll be able to click on “Add Activities.” A menu will then appear, from which you'll select "Port Adventures."

Here’s a planDisney tip: have a wish list ready for the reservations you want most and start with those bookings first. For instance, when my advance booking window opened for our Mediterranean cruise, I started with my Port Adventures first since they were my highest priority. You can go ahead and scope out the available Port Adventure options for your cruise by selecting your cruise destination (Bahamas, Caribbean, etc.) and can customize your search by port, activity level, experience type, accessibility, and price.

Cruise back to planDisney if you have any additional questions before you set sail. My fingers are totally crossed that you get all your desired Port Adventures for your sailing!

    Bon Voyage!
